// about

A student who would rather run the whole stack himself.

I'm Johan — a student in Karlsruhe, happiest when I'm running the whole stack myself instead of renting it.

My thing is self-hosted AI: models on hardware I own, and the infrastructure that makes them dependable. I'm drawn to the layers most people abstract away — the networking, the servers, and the trade-off between cloud scale and keeping data local, private, and GDPR-compliant.

I try to understand systems end to end, from IP routing, NAT, and port-forwarding up to the architecture that decides where a model actually runs. During a short internship at TU Berlin I got to map exactly that — a hybrid setup balancing scalable cloud AI with GDPR-compliant local processing.

When I'm not at Lessing-Gymnasium, I'm usually in a terminal, breaking and rebuilding my setup until it's a little more mine.
